The JBER main exchange is situated on the military base in Anchorage, Alaska. During our summer visit to the Anchorage area, we decided to check out this quaint shopping mall that caters to military personnel.

The premises were impeccably clean and tidy. The main exchange offers excellent prices, making it a budget-friendly option for families. The personnel were extremely courteous, accommodating, and proficient. We look forward to revisiting the next time we are in the vicinity.

A quintessential shopping center. The food offerings are quite satisfactory, and the shops are well-equipped with all the necessities.
Isabella Graham (7/1/25, 4:07 PM):
Tidy shop, simple to get around, but the young soldiers are asking; where's the PS5 stash at!
Frank Collins (7/1/25, 4:00 AM):
A visit to the shopping mall is always a pleasant experience. The staff are helpful, the building is clean and well-maintained, and there are so many options to choose from.
Dorothy James (6/30/25, 2:55 PM):
This mall is absolutely massive! The experience was top-notch, with a wide variety of shops and amenities to enjoy. I had a jolly good time exploring all it had to offer. Cheers!
Jeffrey Peterson (6/29/25, 12:41 AM):
Quite a few of their items can be found at lower prices in places like Target and Walmart.
Alan Martin (6/27/25, 10:01 PM):
A fantastic range of shops and dining choices. The prices are quite fair at the main store compared to elsewhere.
Samuel Sullivan (6/24/25, 11:25 PM):
I popped into the optical shop earlier today. The ladies there were absolutely lovely. Ended up treating myself to two more frames. Can't wait to see how they turn out!
Judy Diaz (6/23/25, 3:02 AM):
Spotless floors, attentive staff with impeccable hygiene, and always friendly, polite, and helpful. The food is excellent, consistently served hot and cold items are well chilled. Huge shoutout to JBEAR and Popeyes for their top-notch service!
Paul Clark (6/22/25, 10:47 PM):
What a lovely spot for our fine men and women who serve our splendid country. We stopped by during our visit to see our son and his family based here.
Amber Lewis (6/22/25, 1:00 PM):
This here mall be small, but don't let that fool ya - it's got a whole range of goodies inside. The place is spotless and the staff are real friendly too.
Evelyn Murphy (6/21/25, 9:26 AM):
A splendid emporium with a grand selection of goods. The athletic equipment section is truly remarkable. Additionally, you'll find a delightful food court and a charming mini mall featuring a traditional barber shop.
Scott Jackson (6/20/25, 11:25 PM):
A regular ol' AAFES store with a decent food court, I must say. The Exchange boasts a fine assortment of Alaska and JBER souvenirs.
Jesse Reynolds (6/17/25, 3:36 AM):
I don't really have any big complaints about Jber or the dining options. However, on the 17th of February, I visited Charley's and placed an order. The lady who was packaging my food accidentally included a piece of beef that had fallen off during the sandwich preparation!
Cheryl Moore (6/17/25, 2:14 AM):
I must say, I have quite a fondness for Popeyes chicken. However, the individuals working at this establishment seem to possess a rather languid pace, reminiscent of pond water. Their lack of customer service skills is quite apparent, as they often appear disinterested in their work. The process of preparing your meal seems to move at a glacial pace.
Harold Graham (6/14/25, 7:45 PM):
Reasonable selection. Paying with the star card can be a bit of a hassle here, as the queues tend to be quite long most of the time. Using the price check feature at this location can also be challenging. An employee once told me that I had to go back to the power center to make use of it. I ended up leaving the headphones and shopping elsewhere. However, the staff is generally friendly. I enjoy browsing around and being asked about products - it adds to the experience. Sometimes, I even suggest items to people who seem confused. I genuinely like it. It's a place where I feel quite at ease. And having a Starbucks in the food court is a major bonus.
Emily Lee (6/13/25, 5:26 PM):
Fair selection of products. Definitely a cut above Walmart in terms of Alaska souvenirs. Great deals on firearms during seasonal sales with the star card. Ashley furniture offers great value for money. Alcohol is convenient, but you can find better prices at Brown Jug with the 10% military discount.
Amelia Thompson (6/9/25, 3:19 AM):
Why does it take so long to sign in at the gate?? It took over a hour to get signed in!

Steven Moore (6/8/25, 4:31 AM):
Absolutely brilliant! A handicapped electric cart is the way to go for a seamless shopping experience at the mall. Cheers!
Patrick Taylor (6/6/25, 1:38 PM):
The PX here offers your standard selection of exchange products. It doesn't quite measure up to the stores in Anchorage, and with Alaska's lack of state sales tax, it doesn't really offer much in terms of savings, in my view. I find that shopping in town for specialized items and hunting/fishing gear is a better option.
