Teresa Brown (6/7/25, 11:29 AM):
I found myself at the seminary when I got wind of Met Jonah's election, after spending a month at St. Michael's Skete on Spruce Island. Through the intercession of Fr. Tucker, whom I've known for two decades, I was graciously offered a room at the seminary for a brief stay. It was a day of great celebration for many. I dined at Monk's Rock Cafe and even indulged in a meal at McDonald's. The regular monastic services were truly moving. The profound mystery of the continuous prayer cycles bears fruit here, despite our inherent unworthiness. The structured hours provided solace and upliftment, even against our own shortcomings. The Orthodox Church in America (OCA) is facing challenging times, with spiritual corruption at the highest levels and formidable individuals showing no mercy to the flock now in the mix. The Word of Jesus Christ stands as the unequivocal Moral Authority: Love the Lord your God and worship Him alone. Live by His teachings and sustenance, do not test the Lord. Heed this divine message conveyed by Christ to confront the battle between evil and the One who is entirely Good, the Father.
