In today's service, the focus was on the youth Choir and the Praise and Worship team, who delivered a beautiful performance. Having grown up attending church, then pursuing education and careers in various states across the country before settling back on the East coast, visiting Canaan Baptist Church with my sister was a true delight. She had heard about Canaan from a colleague and we both felt immediately welcomed and at home in this church. The teaching is consistently rooted in the Bible and presented in a way that resonates with the congregation. The parishioners are genuine, welcoming, and passionate about their faith, serving the church and the community. Reverend Dr. Allan & Debbie Bullock are not only dynamic pastors but also dedicated educators and community leaders, working together as a powerful team to bring people closer to God. I've been away from church for a spell now, but I've been on the lookout for one that would be a good fit for me and my little ones. I rang up to inquire about a few things, and the lady who picked up the phone was rather brusque and discourteous, which put me off right away. It's disheartening to see how some churches are these days, not really valuing their communities as they should.

Without a doubt, this church is the best I've ever been to since I was a young 'un attending 1st African Baptist in Sharonhill. Step inside and feel the warm welcome, and listen to Pastor Bullock preach the word like none other. After hearing him speak just once, I was captivated. His speaking style is truly awesome, and he delivers the message in a way that resonates with everyone. I highly recommend this church to anyone in search of a spiritual home.

The portrayal of the Baptist church I encountered was absolutely dreadful 😭 My husband and I were going through a tough financial situation at the time, with me also being 6 months pregnant🤰 and my husband recovering from a severe illness 🤒 after coming out of a coma. We were seeking comfort, acceptance, and love, but every time we visited, no one answered the phone or the door. I had to run after individuals just to ask for help, and when I finally got a number to contact Pastor Daniel, our calls were ignored after trying 25 times with no response. With nowhere else to go, we were left with no choice but to sleep outside. As we sat in front of the church, a man approached us and instead of offering assistance, he threatened to call the police. I felt deeply saddened 😞 and alone, and if I wasn't a faithful Christian, I might have developed negative feelings towards God and everything He stands for. What our world truly needs today is love. The donations given to the church should not be used by the pastor to purchase a new BMW, but should instead reflect a representation of love. Please, for the sake of our world 🙏, AVOID THIS CHURCH AT ALL COSTS. SEEK A GENUINE CHURCH OF CHRIST. Despite being rejected and almost having to spend the night outside, in the end, God provided a way for my husband and me.

This Baptist church is truly amazing! The community here is so welcoming and the fellowship is truly uplifting. I can feel the love and warmth as soon as I walk through the doors. Plus, the preacher's sermons are always powerful and full of wisdom. I highly recommend visiting this church for a spiritual experience like no other!

I tried to seek assistance with my rental, but it seems they are handling their funds as if they were state or federal funds. If the church members are the ones providing these funds, why would they require an eviction notice or late notice before helping one of their own or any other soul for that matter? Why wait until someone falls so far behind before offering assistance?
