Discover the Arctic Bowl: Fairbanks, Alaska's Premier Bowling Alley

If you're looking for a fun outing in Fairbanks, Alaska, look no further than the Arctic Bowl. This bowling alley has long been a staple of the local community, offering a nostalgic atmosphere combined with a range of offerings that cater to both adults and children alike.

Family-Friendly Fun

The Arctic Bowl is renowned for being a great place for families, making it particularly suitable for kids' birthday parties. With ample space for children to run around and enjoy, it creates lasting memories for families and friends. However, it's essential to note that the bowling lanes do not have bumpers, which may pose a challenge for younger bowlers who are still developing their skills.

Accessibility Features

One of the standout aspects of Arctic Bowl is its commitment to accessibility. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a day at the lanes. This attention to accessibility makes it an inviting venue for all community members.

A Wide Range of Offerings

At Arctic Bowl, the experience goes beyond just bowling. The establishment offers various food options, from Tyson chicken tenders to burgers, alongside a selection of beverages, including beer. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual game or planning a celebration, the availability of quality food enhances the experience. However, some patrons have noted that the food prices are on the higher side, so be prepared to spend a bit for your snacks.

A Nostalgic Atmosphere

Stepping into Arctic Bowl is akin to taking a trip down memory lane. While many reviewers have mentioned the dated decor and leaky ceilings, this rustic charm adds to the vintage feel of the bowling alley. Some guests appreciate the throwback ambiance, as it reminds them of their youth spent bowling with friends and family. Yet, there is also a call for updates to improve the overall experience, especially given the building's age.

Mixed Reviews on the Experience

While Arctic Bowl is adored by many, it's not without its criticisms. Several visitors pointed out instances of poor customer service and maintenance issues, like machines getting jammed and slow food service. Despite these shortcomings, many patrons express their joy about the overall experience, emphasizing the fun atmosphere and affordability of bowling.

The Community Hub

Ultimately, the Arctic Bowl remains a vital part of Fairbanks’ social fabric. Its ability to host leagues, friendly competitions, and family gatherings makes it more than just a bowling alley; it's a community hub where people come together to create lasting memories. The spirit of Fairbanks is alive at Arctic Bowl, offering an experience filled with laughter and good times. In summary, while improvements are warranted, Arctic Bowl still stands out as the go-to location for bowling enthusiasts in Fairbanks, Alaska. A jolly good spot to visit with your dear family or chums.
Dorothy Adams (8/31/25, 11:17 PM):
Had a jolly good time at the Bowling alley, we stayed for a couple of games at the bar side. Top-notch grub, splendid drinks, spotless loos, and reasonable prices, old chap.
Wayne Morris (8/30/25, 1:30 PM):
This bowling alley is the tops in town, no doubt about it. The lanes were so slick, I nearly took a tumble every time I stepped up. The food took a while to come out, but let me tell you, those burgers were proper tasty. The music on the jukebox, however, was absolute rubbish. All in all, it was a decent time!
Isabella Gray (8/29/25, 1:01 PM):
As we were traveling, this was only our second visit to the bowling alley. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful, although the venue could use a bit of sprucing up. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and had a jolly good time.
Dorothy Barnes (8/29/25, 3:02 AM):
Affordable prices, delicious food, and a ton of laughs!
Laura Gomez (8/28/25, 2:05 AM):
I absolutely adore the service at this bowling alley! It was a fantastic experience for our church group, especially since they cater to kids as well. Highly recommend!
Ryan Garcia (8/27/25, 10:24 AM):
A lovely family day out that forges lasting competitive memories.
Ryan Scott (8/27/25, 12:09 AM):
Bloody freezing, innit? Bundle up for winter, mate. It's a right chill outside, and the bowling alley ain't much warmer. Personally, I reckon Nugget Lanes over on Wainwright is the way to go.

You'd think with all the dosh they got from Covid Relief they'd spruce the joint up a bit. The stench of mold is overpowering, and there are buckets scattered about due to the leaky roof. It's a shame this is the best Fairbanks has to offer. Won't be making a return visit, that's for sure.
James James (8/26/25, 8:20 PM):
Oh mate, let me tell you about this bowling alley I went to. It's not the same as it used to be, that's for sure. The older lady working there has no customer service skills, I'm telling you. They changed the pricing for parties to by the hour now, and if your balls get stuck (which happened to us a lot), you have to go to the front and wait for the guy in the back to return them, but that time still counts against your hour, can you believe it?

Our game got stuck in the 8th frame because the balls weren't returning properly, so we asked to change lanes. But guess what? The new lane had the same issue! When we asked the lady if we could at least finish the last two frames since we didn't have our final scores and had wasted about 20 minutes waiting for the balls, she argued with us about charging more to finish. I was fuming, mate.

I won't be going back there, that's for sure. I don't recommend it at all, especially since we didn't get any compensation, and that lady made it seem impossible to let us finish the game. But after I stood my ground, we managed to finish those last two frames. It was a right hassle, I tell ya.
Anthony Clark (8/26/25, 1:39 PM):
Ed is the chap manning the counter, quite the joker and a clever one at that. If you find yourself with some spare time to kill, do pop in for a game or two.
Denise Graham (8/26/25, 9:19 AM):
I must say, the lady at the counter was truly horrid... She didn't even allow us to speak fully. If it were possible to award zero stars, I certainly would! We inquired about simply cutting a cake inside for my husband's birthday and video calling his family in Florida, when she abruptly interrupted us... It's not as if we intended to consume the entire cake on the premises... It was our first visit, and regrettably, we will not be returning! It would be advisable to employ individuals with enhanced customer service skills.
Chloe Cook (8/20/25, 9:52 AM):
What a splendid spot for a game of bowling! I've been a regular visitor for over 5 years now, and I must say they never fail to impress me. While it may have a slightly weathered charm at times, it's easy to overlook considering it's the largest bowling alley in town and hosts numerous tournaments. The staff is simply fantastic, as is the snack bar. If you haven't paid a visit yet, I highly recommend you do so!
Sophia Butler (8/19/25, 12:23 PM):
Arctic Bowl Bar & Bowling is a jolly good time, mate! However, it does have a few ongoing challenges. During the frosty winter months, the joint is as cold as the Arctic itself! My first pint was a bit off, tasting rather flat. I soldiered on and finished it, but didn't bother for another. The bowling itself was quite enjoyable, with decent lanes to play on.

I must say, they really ought to sort out their heating system. It cost me a hefty $40 for a couple of games with my lad, plus the rental shoes weren't exactly cheap.

Due to the chilly conditions, I reckon it's only fair to give them a rating of 2 stars.
Alexander Hernandez (8/18/25, 7:23 PM):
Terrific services at fantastic prices, but do remember to bring your own drinks as their prices are a tad bit steep. However, fear not, as they offer some enticing specials on Tuesday nights! 🌙
Katherine Green (8/15/25, 9:08 PM):
I've been coming to this bowling alley for many years, from my teenage years to adulthood. It has kept its quality consistent and prices have stayed fairly stable. It's a great place for kids to have fun, and the 300 club attached adds to the adult entertainment. I plan on continuing to visit for many more years to come.
Elizabeth Clark (8/12/25, 8:03 PM):
I say, the management is in dire need of an overhaul. Their event planning leaves much to be desired. It simply doesn't hold a candle to the way things were done in the good old days.
Julie Diaz (8/10/25, 6:06 AM):
I absolutely adore this spot, it's akin to a slice of Disneyland nestled in Fairbanks. The ambiance is simply delightful, filled with sunshine, beaming smiles, and even cozy puppy cuddles.
Roy Thomas (8/9/25, 7:03 PM):
It's an absolute blast for all ages, from the little ones to the grandparents. Perfect spot for a get-together with friends or a fun family outing.
Christian Reynolds (8/8/25, 3:50 PM):
The lass on the blower was a tad condescending and rude, and she hung up on me without cause, just plain impolite. They seem to have no interest in earning your custom or fostering a family-friendly vibe. Alas, no bumper lanes for the wee ones.
Noah Rodriguez (8/6/25, 5:18 AM):
I absolutely adored the opportunity to create this splendid memory of three generations enjoying a game of bowling together. Your staff was incredibly charming and welcoming, like family.
