The Foundation of Salvation

The teachings at PCG emphasize that obtaining salvation involves more than passive belief; it requires active participation. As stated in Matthew 7:24, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock." Ella Myers (6/22/25, 6:17 PM):
Acquiring salvation involves COLLABORATING with God. That's why Jesus emphasized "LISTEN AND ACT."

In Matthew 7:24, Jesus states: "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock."

God provides the guidance for us to LISTEN to, and it is up to us to ACT upon it. The combination of Listening and Acting TOGETHER LEADS TO genuine salvation. This is what being saved by Grace (divine guidance) THROUGH faith (loyalty and commitment) entails. Noah CONSTRUCTED (ACTED) the Ark through faith (active dedication to God). God's grace towards Noah included the warning about the flood and the instructions on what to do. Noah was saved because he LISTENED AND ACTED.

The notion that you "play no part in obtaining your salvation" is A FALSE CLAIM perpetuated by MANY deceitful teachers who distort the scriptures to their own detriment.

Our confidence lies in...

1 John 4:16 - "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."
1 John 4:17 - "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."

We can be assured IF "as He is, so are we in this world." If you are not living/abiding in love but instead sinning, then you have no guarantee but are spiritually dead!
