I got hitched at that Baptist church on November 5, 1994, just before Reverend Hickman passed on. He used to inquire if I enjoyed the service as I was heading out the door. One day he asked if I was married, to which I responded no. Shortly after, he kindly offered to officiate my marriage. I really miss him and wish I had gotten the chance to know him better like you all did.

Mount Olive is a historic Baptist church deeply rooted in the African-American community of Bridgeville. From Pastor Benny Hickman to Mother Mildred, this church has been a cornerstone in our lives for as long as I can recall. The child care center has always provided a safe haven for our little ones, ensuring their well-being. Whether seeking guidance or simply a listening ear, Mount Olive has been there for us. Their commitment to giving back to the community is evident in all they do. I had the privilege of working at the daycare center, attending church services, and even going to school with their children. In Bridgeville, we were all one big, happy family. 😊 😁
