A wonderful spot where they expound on the Scriptures, verse by verse... A truly splendid place to drop by and discover for yourself.

I recently visited The New Covenant Church and I must say, the experience was quite unique. The church welcomed everyone to come and listen to the word of God, which was truly inspiring.

During my time there, I learned that women are not allowed to hold the priesthood in this church, and there were some interesting opinions about Mormons being labeled as a cult. I was also surprised when a strict policy was enforced, requiring all visitors to remove their hats inside the sanctuary. It seemed a bit harsh, especially considering that even the pope wears a hat inside his own church.

However, the most troubling part of my visit was witnessing the church greeter forcibly taking food off the plates of two guests on different occasions. This behavior reminded me of the story of Jesus feeding the 5000, but with a negative twist.

Despite these peculiarities, the invitation to hear the word of God at The New Covenant Church on Kings Hwy is one that shouldn't be missed. The experience is bound to leave you with a fresh perspective on faith and community.

For today's Church Visitation, I had the pleasure of attending an Ordination Service for Mr. Jesse Flynn from Laurel, DE! Jesse's wife Michelle and I gathered at the New Covenant Church in Lewes DE this morning. Jesse is stepping into the role of Ruling Elder at this Church. Having served in the Navy alongside his wife Michelle, he is a remarkable individual dedicated to serving others and the Lord. Pastor Dekker guided us through prayers, praises, Bible verses, and songs. His sermon emphasized the importance of seeking God's Will in our lives. Pastor Dekker highlighted the significance of Solomon's wisdom, which begins with Fear and the need to surrender ourselves to God's control. He reminded us that Jesus is our anchor in the storms of life. It was a truly impactful message delivered with humility and grace. After the service, I had a delightful conversation with George Schwobel and his wife Lucy. It was a wonderful and enriching experience at the New Covenant Church this morning.
Hannah Martin (6/25/25, 7:35 PM):

The program is absolutely splendid. The pastor is quite lovely and really embodies kindness.
Alan Alexander (5/21/25, 5:22 PM):
What a lovely congregation, Pastor Dekker's sermons are truly enjoyable!
Roy Taylor (5/17/25, 12:35 AM):
The preacher just conducted a brief service at Rehoboth and as we walked past him, it seemed like he was getting some food near Playa Bowls. He gave the most disgusted look, and I couldn't help but feel that this is the typical preacher in today's society – they preach the word but then ignore the community once their job is done. It brings to mind Romans 12:20.
