During today's visit to The Lighthouse at 21265 John J. Williams Highway in Lewes for the Shepherd's Office Church Visit, we were enveloped by a powerful atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, kindness, and energy within the large congregation. The welcome extended to us was truly heartening.

Having the opportunity to personally meet Pastor Gary and his wife Joyce was a highlight of the visit. Pastor Gary took time out of his schedule to engage with us, offering words of encouragement. We were also introduced to Patrick Joyce and Bill Panera, as well as Pastor Jim, who led the engaging Bible Study session starting at 9:30 am. His teachings emphasized the importance of supporting and forgiving one another within the Church community, especially during challenging times as the group works towards building a Christian ministry or mission together.

The service commenced at 10:30 am, with Pastor Gary delivering a message of hope fitting for the Easter season. He reminded us of our significance in God's plan and drew parallels between the tomb of Jesus and a beacon of hope.

Referencing Mark 16:1-8, Pastor Gary delved into the theme of maintaining faith and resilience during moments of despair and suffering. He shared a personal anecdote about his father's struggles while on a ventilator for three weeks, emphasizing the importance of each breath and the eventual triumph of being able to breathe independently. Through reflections on Jesus' own struggles and cries during his crucifixion, Pastor Gary urged us to find solace in the resurrection and redemption offered by Jesus. He emphasized the power of community, prayer, service, and faith in navigating life's challenges.

In times of trouble, Pastor Gary encouraged us to lean on trust, prayer, and simplicity. By meeting difficulties with a deep breath and a moment of pause, we can find strength and resilience. Holding onto hope, forgiveness, and unity within the Church community can guide us through turbulent times. As Pastor Gary underscored the importance of gathering, praying together, and entrusting ourselves to Jesus, a sense of comfort and inspiration resonated throughout the service.

In conclusion, troubled hearts were urged to maintain trust, offer prayers, and embrace simplicity in facing life's trials. By taking a moment to breathe in, pause, and breathe out, we can find peace and solace in the presence of God. 💕

We stumbled upon this lovely Baptist church during the Covid pandemic. The architecture is stunning, the worship services are uplifting, and the messages based on the Bible are truly inspiring. What makes this place truly special, though, are the warm and welcoming congregation members of all ages and backgrounds. It's a real blessing to be a part of this diverse and loving community. 🕊️🙏💛
Gary Cruz (5/9/25, 11:13 AM):
This is our second home, and the folks here are like family to us. The church is thriving with lots of young ones and families, a clear indicator of its growth and vitality. The children's church uses an excellent curriculum which we truly appreciate.
