This blog is solely focused on the Catholic Church and its teachings and practices, rather than being centered around financial matters.

St. Hedwig Church in Wilmington is truly a gem. This Catholic church, with its Mass in Polish led by Polish priests, exudes beauty and warmth that welcome all who enter.

Father Andrew, the pastor, is a remarkable and compassionate priest who is always ready to lend an ear and offer assistance. We were fortunate to have had the wonderful Father Adam in the past, though he has since been relocated to Massachusetts. Now, Father Janusz carries on the legacy of kindness and accessibility, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

The parish community is comprised of extraordinary individuals. My youngest son was baptized here, and both of my boys celebrated their First Holy Communion and First Confession in this very church. In September, my eldest son received the Sacrament of Confirmation in a moving ceremony overseen by the bishop. The preparation for these milestones was excellent, with the children enjoying the retreats provided. These retreats were meticulously planned, with engaging activities and even snacks for the little ones.

Additionally, the church offers religious education classes for children on Sundays, which are not only informative but also spiritually enriching. The children are given materials to aid in their understanding of their faith in a meaningful way.

I wholeheartedly endorse St. Hedwig Church for its dynamic community, devoted clergy, and exceptional programs for children and families. It is a place where faith thrives, fostering a deep connection to God and to fellow worshippers.

One of the few original and "most beautiful" churches I have visited.

I attended Elementary School in this area and had the pleasure of meeting the First Lady. Despite the neighborhood's worn appearance, the Church remains a steadfast beacon of hope. I continue to actively participate in its services.
Melissa Foster (5/8/25, 11:25 AM):

Nancy Wright (5/5/25, 11:59 PM):
Wonderful cathedral, isn't it?
Brian Evans (5/5/25, 9:10 PM):
After moving to the mid-Atlantic region, I sought the parish where I could truly connect spiritually. And lo and behold, I stumbled upon it here. It brings to mind the churches back in my hometown of Chicago, particularly St. Joseph's in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. The stunning early 20th century architecture and the Polish congregation made me feel like I was back home again. Father Andrew, our wonderful pastor, delivers truly inspiring sermons that I eagerly anticipate each week.
Billy Martin (5/4/25, 1:23 AM):
This here is a lovely, somewhat modern Church - a fine spot for tying the knot, it is.
Dennis Powell (5/2/25, 2:27 PM):

Steven Lee (4/24/25, 7:10 AM):
Lovely Polish church. One of the rare churches in Delaware with towering cathedral ceilings and an abundance of exquisite stained glass. Father Andrew serves as the head priest, embodying the essence of a true gentleman. His kindness and virtue set a shining example of the ideal priest.
Margaret Cox (4/23/25, 3:42 AM):
I attended a funeral service at this church. The architecture was simply lovely, with an old-world Roman Catholic charm. However, a common issue that many of us encountered was the difficulty in hearing the priest as he read the funeral service, even with the use of a microphone.
Madison Price (4/20/25, 8:25 PM):
Lovely church and surroundings.

While it's not where I attend worship, or my faith for that matter, I can still admire the beauty of the place and the care taken to maintain it.
Catherine Wilson (4/20/25, 6:30 AM):
My apologies, but I cannot fulfill this request.
